Search
Kashfetti lists every state you have lived in, including past addresses, with each state's official unclaimed property site. You run the search yourself on the state's own site.
WaitlistGet early access →Every US state is legally required to hold on to money that belongs to people it cannot reach. Old paychecks, forgotten deposits, insurance payouts, dividends nobody cashed. It sits there until someone claims it. Open each state's official site, search your own name there, and find out if any of it is yours.
Amounts shown are what states report holding overall, not a promise that anything is being held under your name. Many people search and find nothing. See where these numbers come from.
We are building Find Money right now. When we open (early 2027), Kashfetti lists every state you have lived in with its official unclaimed property site. You search and claim yourself, and the state pays you directly. Free, always. Kashfetti is not a finder and never takes a cut.
Kashfetti lists every state you have lived in, including past addresses, with each state's official unclaimed property site. You run the search yourself on the state's own site.
Save what you find: which state is holding it, how much, and what the state asks for. Your notes stay in one place so nothing gets lost between states.
Kashfetti opens your state's official unclaimed property site in the app. You file the claim yourself, directly with the state, and the state pays you directly.
Kashfetti is not an unclaimed property finder. There is no per-claim fee and no percentage of what you recover. You search and claim on your state’s official site, and the state pays you directly.
What about Kashfetti Pro? Pro is coming soon ($34.99/yr or $5.99/mo) and is for other Kashfetti tools, like one-tap claim fill for class-action settlements. You never need it for unclaimed money.
Searching and claiming at your state's official unclaimed property site is free, and Kashfetti charges nothing for it either. Kashfetti is not an unclaimed property finder, locator, or agent and never takes a fee or a percentage. You search and file the claim yourself on the official site, and the state pays you directly.
Every state’s unclaimed property search is free and public. The hard part is knowing which states to check and finding the official site. Here is what Kashfetti adds, free:
If a state is holding property in your name, yes. Unclaimed property is money that legally belongs to its owner and has been sitting with the state. Old bank accounts, uncashed paychecks, utility deposits from previous moves, insurance payouts, stock dividends. States hold it until you claim it, and in most states there is no deadline at all, so it stays there however long it takes you to find it. Nobody is scamming anyone.
It is free either way, and you still do the searching and filing yourself. Every state runs a free official search. Kashfetti lists every state you have lived in, including past addresses, opens each state's official site, has your name ready to copy, and lets you save what you find and track each claim. You file on the state's site and the state pays you directly. Kashfetti is not an unclaimed property finder and never takes a fee or a percentage.
You can, and with Kashfetti you still do. Every claim is filed by you on the state's official site. Some states ask for notarization, paper mail, or extra documents, and the state's site tells you what it needs. Kashfetti helps you check every state you have lived in and keeps track of what you find.
Each state sets its own timeline, and some take weeks while others take months. The state's official site usually says what to expect. Save the claim in Kashfetti so you can keep track of where each one stands.
Every one of the 50 states plus DC, each linked to its own official unclaimed property site. For Puerto Rico and Guam we show the official way to contact them.
No. Searching is free, claiming is free, and Kashfetti charges nothing for unclaimed money: no per-claim fee, no percentage of what you recover, and it is not part of Pro.
Each state's official site lists what it needs, such as a copy of your ID, proof of address, or a notarized form. You send it straight to the state. Kashfetti does not collect your ID or documents and does not mail anything for you.

No. Kashfetti provides information and tools. We are not lawyers, and we are not an unclaimed property finder, locator, or agent. Unclaimed property claims are not legal proceedings anyway. You are claiming money that is already yours.
Most find a modest amount, and some find a lot. The clearest public numbers come from the national association of state unclaimed property administrators: in its fiscal 2020 report the median claim paid was $100 and the average was $1,609.95. Those two numbers are that far apart because a small number of very large claims pull the average up. The median is the better thing to plan around, so go in expecting a nice surprise rather than a windfall. Plenty of people search and find nothing at all.
Then you have lost nothing. Kashfetti never charges for unclaimed money, whether you find something or not.
Your name and the states you have lived in are only used to show you each state's official unclaimed property site, where you search yourself. We do not sell it. We do not share it with third parties. Full privacy policy at kashfetti.com/privacy (in progress with our attorney).
Class-action settlements (we show the ones you may qualify for and you file them yourself on the official site, free), spam calls (log them, learn your rights and report them), and flight delays and cancellations (under US rules you can get a refund of your fare if they cancel and you turn down the new flight they offer, and European rules pay up to €600 for long delays). Kashfetti Pro, coming soon at $34.99/yr or $5.99/mo, adds one-tap claim fill and instant alerts for settlements, with Flights and Spam Fighter added later at no extra charge. Unclaimed money stays free.
Yes. You can cancel anytime from your account to stop future charges.
